Latin Translation?

I'm trying to find a latin phrase that translates closely to 'Peaceful Revolution'.



Pax Pacis : peace, truce, treaty

Insurgo: to rise up, rebel, revolt

Insurgi: to rise up, rebel, revolt

Insurrectum: to rise up, rebel, revolt



I'm not sure if Pax Pacis is the best term for what I'm trying to express, and I'm not sure about Latin syntax i.e. which word would come first, I'm assuming Insurgo or one of those terms would come first followed by the adjective.

I would not use adjectives derived from "pax" as these either suggesting making peace or enforcing it. (pacified etc)



If you literally want to translate peaceful in the sense of calm and quiet, I'd go for "placidus". Revolution in the sense of an uprising would best be rendered by "seditio". This would result in an oxymoron "seditio placida", something like "harmonious discord".



However in the modern context I believe the meanings which would suit Latin phrases are as follows;

"political change achieved peacefully" - Res novae placide perfectae

"political change begun peacefully" - Res novae placide inceptae

Matters needing doing peacefully done - Res gerendae placide gestae ~or ~ Gerenda placide gesta ~or~ Agenda placide acta

It's been 40 years since Latin class but I am guessing Insurgum Pacificum.Latin Translation?
Novae res imbelles / Novae res pacales / Novae res pacatae

Insurrectus imbellis / Insurrectus pacalis / Insurrectus pacatus



Insurrectio (a Later Latin word) can be substituted for insurrectus.



Pax is a noun (peace), not an adjective (peaceful). All of the other words you have given are just different forms of the same verb, insurgo.

pacalis -e [peaceful]
